This blog outlines 5 great free tools that I have personally used and recommend for managing your small business's social media profiles. These tools are:
1 - CanvaMost of Social Media revolves around creating good quality and engaging visual content. Canva is the perfect free tool for anyone with none to limited designing experience. They have thousands of ready-made designs that you can use and easily edit to create unique and great quality visuals. Although this is not a function I have personally used, you can even connect your social media accounts and publish contents directly from Canva. Canva also has a paid plan which gives you access to more templates, transparent backgrounds, and premium photos for only $16.99 CAD a month. 2 - HootsuiteHootsuite is one of the most popular social media scheduling and management tools in the market. Headquartered here in Vancouver, B.C, Hootsuite gives users the ability to schedule posts on various social media platforms, receive in-depth analytics, and collaborate with your team. I personally love this tool as it provides a great platform for me to manage all my accounts in one place, and gives me the ability to schedule posts in advance. The Hootsuite free plan gives you the ability to connect 3 of your social media profiles and schedule up to 30 posts. 3 - BufferThis tool is quite similar to Hootsuite in the sense that it provides you the ability to schedule posts from various accounts and also provides in-depth analytics. Some of my favourite aspects of Buffer that I really like are that it is clean, has an easy to follow design, and its quality insights that let you know when the optimal time is to post for your audience is. The Buffer free plan gives you the ability to connect 4 of your social media accounts and schedule up to 30 posts on each account. 4 - LaterLater is similar to both Hootsuite and Buffer in that it is a social media management tool. One of my favourite parts about Later as a tool is that their differentiating factor - their visual Instagram planner. This tool allows you to visually see what your feed will look like before you post your images. This is ideal for those that are trying to have aesthetic profiles. In addition, Later has one of the best free accounts. Their free account gives you the ability to connect up to 4 social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) and schedule up to 120 posts (30 posts per profile). 5 -TweetDeckIf you are someone who's audience is on twitter and you use twitter frequently, then TweetDeck is the perfect tool for you. This free tool gives you the ability to manage multiple twitter accounts on one platform. You can create a customizable dashboard to suit all your twitter needs in terms of following certain hashtags, or engaging with your target audience. My favourite part of this tool is that it gives you the ability to schedule as many tweets as you want in advance, completely for free!

Step 2 - Ensuring Meta Tags Are UsedWhat are Meta Tags? Meta Tags in short are used to make it easier for search engines such as Google to understand the content of your website. This results in it being very important for SEO purposes and directly contributes to determining your SEO score. In addition, there are two main Meta tags - title tag, and meta description. Title tags are the titles of your pages that show up on search results. Meta descriptions are the snippets that appear underneath title tags in search results that provide a description of what the page is about. How to include Meta Tags? Similar to alt text, depending on which platform you have built your website on, including meta tags on your website will be slightly different.
